Mortals
Hollow, Quincy, Shinigami; all of them have one thing in common. They're all human. Some of them may be disgusted by that concept, some may simply disagree, but the undisputed fact of life is that whether you're dead, alive, or some despondent place in between, you are human.
Throughout history there are many examples of exceptional human beings, whether they were mighty warriors, like the legendary Chinese general Lü Bu, who's tales describe thousands of men falling to his spear, or clever tacticians such as Greek gladiator Spartacus, who famously lead his small band of men to victory against platoons of Romans in their rebellion. Undoubtedly, there were those among the shapers of history who wielded great spiritual might, but High-Spec Mortals have waxed and waned in significance for thousands of years. Witch doctors. Wisewomen. Mystics. Soothsayers. Exorcists. High-Spec Mortals have had many names and many roles in society. In the modern era their significance is bleak, but in the spiritual world there are more of them than ever, and even more of them are becoming spiritually powerful. No doubt, after centuries of insignificance, those privy to the spirits will once again influence the course of history.
One of the facets of being a spiritually powerful human is your Soul Bond. This is an item, concept, thought, or idea, that has resonated with who you are to your core and bonded with your soul. For Shinigami it's the asauchi they receive in the academy, for Hollow and Arrancar it's their favored prey or aspect of death, for Quincy it's their cross, but what is it for everyone else? There is a particular type of powered human called a Fullbringer, and there'll be more on them later, but the answer to the question is this: anything. If you're not a Hollow, Arrancar, Quincy, Shinigami, or, to a lesser extent, Fullbringer, your Soul Bond can be literally anything. It can be a hair-clip you received from your beloved older brother, it can be your own skin and the pride you have for it, it can be a ghost that preys on your deepest insecurities, it can even be the abstract concept of identity itself.
Spiritually Powerful Humans
The difference between a Fullbringer and any other spiritually powerful human is largely in the way they became High-Spec Mortals. Regular humans become high-spec mortals by being exposed to, and naturally absorbing, the Reiatsu of a person or people who is/are spiritually powerful. This means that, though they don't yet have any powers, they are able to perceive the spiritual world. This may begin as shimmers, akin to heat distortion in the air, of ghosts and Hollow, and as they absorb more and, eventually, begin generating their own Reiryoku, the images of those ghosts and Hollow will become clearer and clearer. Once they can see the spiritual world clearly their soul has become powerful enough to generate it's own reiatsu, their soul then finds something important to bond with, and that's when they may begin to develop spiritual powers.
Human beings are the primordial entities of the spiritual world, they become Arrancar, Hollow, Shinigami, Fullbringers, Quincy, but they can be so much more. There is very little structure for the abilities of a spiritually powerful human, but like all other spiritual beings their powers grow around the strength of their personality and their Soul Bond, how the two relate and the methods their owner uses to achieve greater power are wildly different from person to person. Because of this there is no commonality to draw from, no standard to extrapolate from nor tradition to obey. The world of magic and fantasy is just as likely to be utilized as sci-fi and technology, science as likely as religion, humans have the freedom to be whatever their soul desires.
The price of this freedom is payed in knowledge. Every human is different, every human experience is different, and no two spiritually powerful humans will have the same path to power. A shinigami knows to accept their fragmented soul to achieve enlightenment, their own zanpakuto spirit is there to guide them. A Hollow knows to carve out a place for itself in the world, it's instincts drive it. Spiritually powerful humans have no road-map, and finding your way in the dark is difficult. In a world of many answers, which one fits your question?
Fullbringers
Fullbringers are high-spec mortals from birth. The source of this spiritual awareness is the lingering reiatsu of a hollow that they absorbed when their mother lived long enough after a Hollow attack to give birth. Most high-spec mortals are able to generate their own reiatsu by the time they become spiritually powerful, as such they have their own distinct type of reiatsu. Fullbringers do not. Instead, a Fullbringer generates a type of reiatsu that is almost entirely the same type as a Hollow, save for a few key differences that all but the most skilled in the spiritual world will be ignorant to. This uncanny resemblance to Hollow reiatsu has caused many conflicts between Fullbringers and Shinigami in particular, and to this day neither side has much love for the other.
Another difference between Fullbringers and other spiritually powered humans are their powers themselves. A Fullbringer can still Soul Bond like a regular human, but because of the Hollow influence in their reiryoku they're limited to the physical world: items, body parts, weapons, etc. The trade-off, however, is their ability to influence the souls of items besides their Soul Bond. This ability is where the Fullbringers get their namesake, they are able to fully bring the soul of an item under their control to make said item behave in ways that are otherwise impossible for the laws of nature to allow, hence the name Fullbringers. This can be as small as fullbringing the soul of a car engine to start it without your keys, to fullbringing the soul of your clothing to make it more resistant to impacts.
The final discrepancy between Fullbringers and their kin is what drives them to even greater heights. There are signs that could point them in the right direction, the influence their Hollow reiryoku has on them could vary from Fullbringer to Fullbringer, but who's to say they can't find another way?
